Movie(s) Review: In Time and Cinderella

Usually I don't like movies all that much, since they have a limited amount of time to fit a plot to, and there usually aren't many of the same fandom (say, books and TV shows go on for longer). There are a few movies I love, though, like the "new" Alice In Wonderland, Back to the Future and A Princess Bride, and in the past two days I found two more movies (my cousin slept over so we watched two movies in a 24-hour span) that I liked and I thought were worth sharing.

In Time

Plot

Just a little to get you hooked

Lifetime is the new currency. You age until 25 - then stop. And that's when your clock starts ticking. You start with one year, but you can earn time when you work, fight for it, steal it, lose it, gift it. Those born rich can, theoretically, live forever; the poor live day-to-day. When your time runs out, you die.

Plot Review

I can't do "out of five stars," so I'm not gonna. The plot flowed nicely, it didn't repeat itself or stretch out like with many adventure movies. There were a lot of different parts: funny, dangerous, adventure and - of course - love. That last one got a bit cheesy, but not too much. There weren't any confusing flashbacks/dreams, and they weren't needed, either, so I could keep my brain neat and tidy. I honestly can't name a single bad thing about this aspect of the movie, although I don't think I would go so far as to call it perfect.

(In)Appropriateness

Language

There were a few 'fucks,' 'shits' and 'damnits,' but nothing serious, and there was (almost) no nudity-sort-of-inappropriateness in the language either.

Violence

Lots of guns, but barely any blood. There were a few bodies, but none of them were disgusting, and deaths are very... non-dramatic? Oh gods, what's the word I'm looking for? Anyway.

Nudity and the like

Two people go skinny-dipping once, and you can see the woman's butt and side-boobs for a few seconds, and there's a lot of kissing but only one or two serious making out sessions. There's no full nudity or sex.

Overall

I usually don't watch adult movies. It feels me with a sort of dread and I just avoid them, maybe because I'm afraid that I'll see some adult content that I don't want to see, but this was really okay. I think it's a, like, 13+? Gah. Now I feel responsible. What if a 13-year-old watches it and is violated for life?

I told you everything; go and make a smart choice! (That sounds bad.)

Cinderella (2015)

Plot

Just a little to get you hooked

The original Cinderella, with a few twists and plucks and humor and a personality-for-the-main-character. :)

Plot Review

It was funny, more realistic than the original and than a loooot of Disney movies, not stretched-out at all, and true to the original. It's a really great movie, and it has beautiful scenery and clothes, a song or two, and serious, "deep" conversations.

(In)Appropriateness

Language

One or two 'whore's and 'wench's, but it's-- well, not good-naturedly, but it's not really used as a curse, either.

Violence

Nope-a-dope-dee-di-dope. They hunt a stag once but don't catch it, and there's a bit of verbal abuse.

Nudity and the like

Cleavge, cleavage, cleavage. Nothing else, though.

Overall

It was great. All ages, probs.
